Free medicine for patients who can’t afford it, and a computer lab for children, in Nagar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan.
Taskeen serves the communities of the Karakoram in Nagar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan — one of the most remote regions of northern Pakistan, where the nearest well-equipped hospital is a two-hour journey away. Since 2024, our work has rested on two commitments: health and education.
We provide prescribed medicines at no cost to patients who cannot afford them, working with government hospitals and Medical Officers at the Hoper Valley health dispensary and the SAS Valley civil hospital in Askurdas.
How the programme works
At Sunrise Public School in Nagar Khaas, we are building a computer lab to bring digital learning to children who would otherwise grow up without it. The building and furniture are already complete, through the community’s own hands.
